We have an extensive fabric catalog that prevents time-consuming development times. Once the production or the PP sample is done and confirmed, we will take the marketing imagery that allows you to launch products on your website, post them on social media even before the products have been shipped from the factory.

YES! This is very close to our hearts. We started working with recycled materials many years ago, and today it accounts for more than 50% of the fabrics we are using. Our goal is to be at 100% within 2025. We have sourced suppliers that offer bio-degradable polybags and recycled buttons. We continuously search for suppliers who can provide a sustainable alternative to our supply chain.

We have developed a Code of Conduct that we use to communicate our requirements to co-workers and suppliers we work with, and we monitor performance against those requirements. Our COC can be find here: https://www.scand-tex.com/collections/code-of-conduct

WRAP

FAQ about WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production)

WRAP stands for Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production. It's an independent, objective, non-profit team of global social compliance experts dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing worldwide through certification and education. WRAP certifies facilities for compliance with its standards on issues like labor practices, health and safety, environmental practices, and legal compliance.

  1. Ethical Sourcing: Customers increasingly seek to support brands that prioritize ethical practices. WRAP certification ensures that the products they purchase are produced under conditions that respect workers' rights and welfare. This aligns with a growing consumer demand for high-quality, ethically-made products.
  2. Quality Assurance: While WRAP focuses on social compliance, the rigorous assessment process can also improve the overall manufacturing process. This often results in higher-quality products for consumers, as facilities strive to meet international standards in labor practices and product quality.
  3. Environmental Stewardship: With environmental concerns becoming more prominent, consumers are seeking out brands that take steps to minimize their environmental impact. WRAP certification addresses aspects of environmental practices within manufacturing facilities, reassuring customers that they buy from a brand that cares about its ecological footprint.
  4. Trust and Transparency: WRAP certification provides the transparency and trust consumers increasingly demand. It tells them that the brand is open about its manufacturing processes and willing to undergo external audits to prove its commitment to ethical practices.
  5. Social Responsibility: Many consumers today want to feel that their purchases contribute to a greater good. By choosing products from a WRAP-certified manufacturer, consumers can be assured that their spending supports facilities that provide fair working conditions, respect for human rights, and attention to environmental issues.

Choosing a factory that isn't WRAP certified can expose apparel brands to various risks, impacting their bottom line and brand reputation. Here's a rundown of potential concerns:

Ethical and Legal Risks

  1. Labor Violations: Factories without WRAP certification may not adhere to international labor standards, risking involvement in child labor, forced labor, or other labor abuses. This can lead to legal issues and severe backlash from consumers and human rights organizations.
  2. Safety Violations: Non-certified factories might not meet safety standards, increasing the risk of accidents or injuries. Such incidents can result in legal actions, costly settlements, and negative media attention.

Brand Reputation

  1. Negative Publicity: An association with unethical practices can lead to negative publicity. In the age of social media and instant news, a brand can quickly become linked to a scandal, which can damage consumer trust and loyalty.
  2. Consumer Backlash: Modern consumers are increasingly ethically conscious. Discovering that a brand sources from factories with poor labor practices can lead to boycotts, protests, and a decline in sales.

Financial Implications

  1. Supply Chain Disruptions: Factories not adhering to ethical or safety standards are more likely to face disruptions due to strikes, accidents, or regulatory actions. Such disruptions can delay production and lead to financial losses.
  2. Increased Costs: Non-compliance with labor and safety standards can result in fines, legal fees, and compensation payments. Additionally, brands may need to spend on public relations campaigns to mitigate the damage to their reputation.

Market Access

  1. Retailer and Distributor Requirements: Many retailers and distributors require their suppliers to demonstrate ethical production practices. Without WRAP certification, brands may have limited market access and miss out on opportunities to sell through certain channels.

Sustainability Concerns

  1. Environmental Impact: WRAP certification also covers environmental practices. Factories without such certifications may not have efficient waste management or pollution control measures in place, leading to environmental damage and contravening the growing demand for sustainable products.

Given these risks, it's clear why WRAP certification is not just a badge but a necessity for maintaining ethical integrity, legal compliance, and competitive advantage in the apparel industry. For brands aiming to be on the right side of history—and market trends—aligning with WRAP-certified brands like yours is a strategic move.

As a gold member of WRAP, we can use hangtags and labels with the WRAP logo "made in a certified facility." The brand does not need certification; the producer/factory holds the license.
